Pork Sandwiches With Caramelized Onions

- 1 1/4 lbs625 gCanadian Pork Loin Cutlets, delicated
- 2 tsp10 mLEACH butter and canola oil
- 4 cups1 Lthinly sliced onions
- garlic powder and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp15 mLbutter
- 44slices Monterey Jack or Swiss cheese
- 44Kaiser buns
Directions
To prepare caramelized onions, heat 2 tsp/10 mL butter and oil in a large skillet. Add onions and sugar. Stir well. Cook slowly over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and golden brown, about 25 minutes. Season cutlets with garlic powder and pepper. Melt 1 Tbsp/15 mL butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add cutlets and cook quickly, about 5 minutes per side until nicely browned. Place each on the bottom half of a Kaiser bun. Top each with caramelized onions, a slice of cheese and the remaining bun halves.
