Grilled Bratwurst with Beer-Mustard Marinade

      fresh Canadian Bratwurst Sausages
    • 1 cup
      250 mL
      beer*
    • 1/4 cup
      50 mL
      grainy mustard
    • 3 Tbsp
      45 mL
      molasses
    • 2 tsp
      10 mL
    • 1/2 tsp
      2 mL
      nutmeg
    • 1/4 tsp
      1 mL
      ground cloves

Directions

Prick sausages with a fork once or twice and place in a resealable plastic bag. Combine remaining ingredients for marinade. Pour marinade over pork. Seal bag and marinate in the refrigerator at least 8 hours, turning occasionally. Remove meat from marinade. Preheat barbecue on high; reduce heat to medium-low. Grill bratwurst on a lightly oiled grill, turning frequently, and brushing with marinade, for about 20-25 minutes. Serve on mini-sub buns with your favorite toppings.

Note: Fresh sausage should always be cooked to well done.
